Perfectly

tea

The dance between dusty thoughts and childlike giggles

Dark skies while sipping on my pain

Simplicity is savored in a porcelain tea cup, it’s a Bergamot kind of day

Paralyzing grief served on Friday’s plate

Numbed by uninhibited dancing on Saturday with a random fake

The day will dawn

The night will darken

Who I am in this moment

With just one sentence

Is perfectly forgotten

Evening Wish

Man collecting the stars and putting them in a wheelbarrow.

Laying on my back I looked up for a moment

If only I could be

That star so far away in the distant sky

Peacefully shining on its own and quietly offering light

Enjoying the safety of a simple existence in the middle of the night

Perfection

moon

The moon tonight

So delicately outlined

Perfection in its dark and light

Shadows in between intuitively play

You must have been perched on the moon this evening

There is no other reason that I can logically see

For such incredible beauty

Shining down on me

That Day

That Day

That day

Her glass castle shattered in to a thousand pieces

A white flag and a deep exhale the only signs of life deposited on her shore

Today, sweet textures of love and story paving her road

All the broken pieces of glass forming her humble mosaic of whole

The past, unnecessary conceptual overlay that dampens a genuine soul

If you seek her, present is where you will find her spirit in solid hold

Her heart open, held in tender and worn hands

On a seldom rainy day in quiet blink she remembers a once diluted way

And that precious moment it all went astray

All the colors that arced her darkness and light

The silhouettes and shadows that broke her one unannounced night

You don’t need to confirm with her the strength you see in her dark eyes

For it was in the clarity of her weakness when she realized how deeply she was cut and bleeding

That Day

She came to understand it was the simplicity of her own honor and love she was truly needing

Some

moon

While the world was chasing the light of the sun

Basking in the play of uniformed hearts

All things daytime

Glossy surfaces and comfortable prose in well-lit spaces

She noticed some who quietly breathe at 4am

Who quietly ponder thoughts in the dark

Mirrored in their tired eyes

She noticed the light of the moon

Its ability to shine during darkness

Not when the world is well-lit, comfortably warm and knowing

The moon, its unique nature of sitting in the discomfort of the dark

Embracing fear

Yet still able to bring light

Hanging just right

Beside the stars where hopes and dreams are silently thrown when dusk departs and prior to the assumed arrival of dawn

In her quiet

She fell in love with the moon, its gentle touch and tender ways of giving light to those who dare to breathe in the discomfort of their dark

The Space Between

candle.gif

Have you ever noticed the space between the wick and the flame?

Sat in your quiet breath and observed the void between the two

Integral space needed to keep purposed light

An oddly required polarity to serve self and the other with unspoken respect

The wick holding its unique contribution of longevity to care for the flame

The flame holding its unique contribution of longevity to care for the wick

In that care and purpose

A respected space allowing both to fulfill their nature

Have you ever noticed the space between the wick and the flame?

The Day She Awoke

mossy-oak

She is nothing wrong

Cracks in her foundation no longer void of fill

Merely a shared opportunity for her light to shine on darkness

Shadow blooming as a reminder, she stands not alone

As tall as the mossy oak that spoke to her the secrets of the quiet

Grand in her roots

Skinned knees not a portrait of her fall but of her noble rise and heal

A story vulnerably spoken in all three acts

Her heart full of pain reminds her

Hold your badge high

Proudly

Feel

Live

The day she awoke

Returning to love
