My Shadow

copper

Day after day it came

I grieved

I asked for it to stop

I prayed, no begged, please

Day after day it came

I grieved

I asked if not for it to stop then just a break

I prayed, no begged, please

I grieved

One tired day

I could not pray, I could not beg

I sat in my shadow, just me in my darkness

With my grief that wouldn’t go away

Without notice

Without command

Without direction

Grief gently floated away

My whole heart, the only thing that came to visit me today

  1. Alisa, You are such a master at finding and weaving words together into the finest and most beautiful work. I just love Your style and Way with Words!!!! I know You are very busy with Your show! Hope it goes really great! Sorry You couldn’t join Steve experiment.

I wish You had told me You were coming to visit I would have stoked up the fire and put on a fresh pot of tea on (see “Waiting, simply Waiting (for You). I have missed our chit-chat and banter! boo!
Hope You have a Happy Sunday!
