Perfection

moon

The moon tonight

So delicately outlined

Perfection in its dark and light

Shadows in between intuitively play

You must have been perched on the moon this evening

There is no other reason that I can logically see

For such incredible beauty

Shining down on me

Illumination

sad

Look for them

Notice the person who is looking down, see them in their perfect human form

Hold their hand in silent know

The quiet one, who without announcement carries recognizable sadness in their eyes

See them

Nurture their worry in gentle sway, lay with them, sorrow and grief should never be alone

Let their tenderness and vulnerability mirror the compassion you were once shown

Breathe life and spirit in to beautifully tired souls

None of us better than the other, we all have our shadows that can swallow us whole

Let light and dark be the fabric that connects us together

Feel me

I am your sister, friend and mother

Grow authenticity, remove the unnecessary societal covers

They only serve to starve us all from one another

At the end of our life only one thing can be left behind

The love you share by simply being kind

The Garden

garden4

In the garden the magnificence of life is mirrored in her beautiful surround

New growth quietly whispers to us in delicate and gentle ways

The story of bloom; a seed planted long ago reminding us with love and care everything will grow

Nature and the stars meet early in the morning just before the dawn

When the moon is passing shift and the sun about to rise

The trees and flowers slowly start to open their eyes

Birds sing their song, softly inviting you to wake as the garden dances to the start of a new day

Authenticity and spirit, graciously inviting you out to play

Breathe in deeply, feel the love and all the magic you will find

Knowing in your heart

When I dream of the garden

You are right there in my mind

Incredibly

ours alone

Today, I closed my eyes with a generous sigh

To pen of an evening, our’s alone

A secret garden, romantically wrapped in energy and know

Poetic dance, reminiscent verse captured in bend and hold

Extended equal stretch smoothly poured over ice

Time devoured in moments that could forever stand still

So effortlessly captured, deeply penetrating sensory snap shots in my mind

Story rolling in ease and play

Your eyes flickering all the beautiful colors of muse and soul

Breathing deeply, a delicate kiss, undressed in deliberate touch

Imagination drifted me far away

As I tried to pen of an evening

Incredibly

Our’s alone

That Day

That Day

That day

Her glass castle shattered in to a thousand pieces

A white flag and a deep exhale the only signs of life deposited on her shore

Today, sweet textures of love and story paving her road

All the broken pieces of glass forming her humble mosaic of whole

The past, unnecessary conceptual overlay that dampens a genuine soul

If you seek her, present is where you will find her spirit in solid hold

Her heart open, held in tender and worn hands

On a seldom rainy day in quiet blink she remembers a once diluted way

And that precious moment it all went astray

All the colors that arced her darkness and light

The silhouettes and shadows that broke her one unannounced night

You don’t need to confirm with her the strength you see in her dark eyes

For it was in the clarity of her weakness when she realized how deeply she was cut and bleeding

That Day

She came to understand it was the simplicity of her own honor and love she was truly needing

It Is

it is

It is

The story you tell in your comfortable silence

Quiet glances that needn’t any words

Your thoughts now, respectfully honored and heard

It is

The glass of water that arrived before we knew how great our thirst

A shared breeze, side by side, our toes warmly folded in the sand

How perfect it is, cherished unplanned time while we gently hold hands

It is

Deeply closing our eyes because we are no longer blind

That laugh we shared, I kept a little for later

My confession; it makes me smile when it dances across my mind

It is

Exactly as we are

Exactly how we feel

The treasures we will find

If I am me and you are you

Imagine the beautiful possibilities of a world  so genuine and true

Love Is

heart

Love is not waiting in time

A well-rehearsed dance, a jockeying of hope to be regarded in kind

It is not a recipe with purchased ingredients of those sour experiences trapped in our mind

There are no walls or impenetrable spaces, our hearts never to be kept in closely guarded cases

Love is alive in moments and space

Captured in good faith and held with genuine regard

Even when bravery and vulnerability feel so incredibly hard

To feel without measure and show up with respectful intentions

Learning through eyes and hearing what is not always spoken

Trusting we are here to nurture, never to leave another broken

Exchanges of deepening glances regardless of historical weather

Valuing care and touch, painting connection with the lightness of a feather

An awareness to honor a heart you love with precious hold

Never waiting in time, knowing it is rare and bold

Seasons

kits

Cold winds that blew through your deepest chambers

How you longed for genuine warmth

Icy droplets that bit at your light falling from never-ceasing grey skies

The tap of consciousness reminding you, mind who you invite to your table in good nature

The freeze that arrived that one night hardening your most precious vulnerabilities

You hear the echo of the dull thud of your soul as it hit the floor, followed by your needed wake

Yesterday, I sat in a moment

Warm winds gently blowing

The afternoon sun warming my face

Sand between my toes, the waves lapping the tides in their unique chime

Breathing in the salt air, the ocean whispered in its unique filling way

Trust yours seasons as they brought you here

Today

A Poet’s Capture

gin

A poet’s capture

Such good fortune bestowed upon me

Absorbing her story in perfect sway

Graciously spoken through her deepened eyes

Subtleties tapping on your soul with an almost contagious delight

So curious to me in the most poetic ways

To watch her spirit bounce with life and flutter in stride

I wished for just a moment I could have gently held it in my hands for her to see

The magic and light she naturally shared with me

The ripples of laughter that she couldn’t keep in

How it made her eyes dance and all around her seemingly spin

I wonder if she knows how brightly the stars shine by her side

Or that the moon and her glow in even pride

A true gift

A poet’s capture, my simple write

A fortunate evening

With a genuine light

A Wrinkle On My Soul

type-a

A wrinkle on my soul

There is no pressing it new to adorn even lines and flat conformity

I cannot, will not, have it streamed and hung to appear as when it was born

Creased in time and life, words and love that have ripped and bloomed remind me all that has been torn can also be sewn

A wrinkle on my soul

I once tried to wear new clothes and hide my less than perfect form

I cannot, will not, wear the dress society has made the norm

Creased in time and life, my lines are here to remind me what you and I feel is our style, unique our own

A wrinkle on my soul

Dress it with pride knowing it is the reflection

Of a life

Honestly worn

~Alisa Hutton
