The end of dramatic young love
Her, 17 with bunny boiler sharp focus on attainment
Him, an 18 year old boy dripping in good looks and an ever present bulge in his trousers
Surrounded by their pimpled peers he swept his manly locks to the side and bid her farewell
Hand up, he was done with her shit
As the gaggle of teen onlookers gasped in horror
The end of a long term relationship of ten and a half months
She threw her long arms in the air tossed with greivous screams and tears
“If I can’t be with you I want to die!”
She ran towards the ocean to drown herself in the end of her love
Fill her lungs with the salty water of his betrayal
She ran fast
She ran long
She ran far
It was low tide
She tripped and fell in 12 inches of water
Shallow love and shallow water
All it does is ruin your makeup
Romeo and Juilet eventually married other people, then divorced, then married again
Twenty five years later without fail every time I hear the word shallow water
I giggle at young love
~Alisa Hutton
It made me laugh. It was Candice’s title “Shallow Waters” that reminded me of this story from when I was a teenager. Silly kids:)

lol Candice has that effect on all of us. I absolutely love her and i am in love with her work. She makes me feel like, how can i explain, she makes me feel like i am next to her when she is writing her master pieces.

She is a supremely talented woman beyond words.

I agree. You know something, since the first time i read her masterpieces my goal in life is to meet her. I really need to meet her and thank her for the effect she has in me. At times i don’t even know what to express what she does to me with her words. I can feel it so deep.

Good memories (not at the time)

Not at all! You look back and you remember how deep it all felt, forever. I had a friend remind me of this a few weeks back that often (even now) we feel it all so deeply, but love won’t kill you even when it does’t last. It is the “not” allowing in love that will kill you.

Absolutely agree, Alisa. So, so true.

Epitomises our time- anyone’s time back when…everything was deep and end of the world. Hindsight is marvellous but useless sometimes,. doled out too late. That was marvellous. I caught this oversight…hope it helps. Nice write!
then divorced, the married again

Hindsight often good for a chuckle and not much else:) I guess on another point, when the world feels like it is falling apart “today” we can be assured we have felt this before and we always do move forward:) Thank you for the edit note…I am notorious for “not” editing, ever lol.
